There's no lack of things explosive to do this coming Fourth of July in the Lower Hudson Valley. The rocket's red glare will be see up and down the Hudson and far inland, celebrating our Independence Day. Listed below are as many of the local events as we could find. July 3
Cross County Shopping Center's Summer Fest July 3
Grab the family and bring the lawn chairs and blankets for live concerts all summer long on The Green, in the center of the Cross County Shopping Center, 8000 Mall Walk, Yonkers. Enjoy a variety of performances including: July 3: NYC Swing Band; July 9: Milagro; July 16: Strawberry Fields; July 23: Hazzard County; July 30: The Benjamins; Aug. 6: Almost Journey. Shows are from 7-9 p.m. The July 3 concert by the NYC Swing Band includes an Independence Day fireworks display starting at 9:30 p.m. Summerfest starts at 6 p.m. on "The Green" in the center of the mall, with strolling entertainers including stilt walkers, face painters and balloon artists. Visit the Cross County booth, located near the center stage, for a free hand-held American flag.
Ossining Summer Concert Series July 3
Free weekly outdoor concerts Fridays, July 3-Aug. 22, at Louis Engel Waterfront Park. The July 3 show features pop/rock/R&B group Jigsaww at 7:30 p.m. with fireworks at 9:15 p.m. July 3. Kensico Dam Music Fest and Fireworks July 3

New Rochelle Fireworks
The famous Grucci Family of Fireworks present one of their signature displays on the New Rochelle waterfront. Sponsored by New Rochelle Parks and Recreation, the event starts at 9:30 p.m. Take it all in from Hudson Park, Five Islands Park, and the Municipal Marina upper parking deck. 914-654-2087.
Fireworks Shows at Playland
Playland offers bi-weekly fireworks accompanied by a music every Wednesday and Friday night during July and August. Concerts start at 7:30 p.m. Fireworks start at 9:15 p.m. A special holiday fireworks show accompanied by patriotic music will salute the Fourth at the pier on July 4. Town of Southeast Fourth of July Fireworks Spectacular

Village of Mamaroneck Firemen's Carnival
The 67th Annual carnival happens nightly for two weeks from 7-10 p.m., June 27 through July 5 at Harbor Island Park in Mamaroneck. Take in the fireworks display July 4 at 9 p.m. Rain date: July 5.
Larchmont Fourth of July Concert in Manor Park
See fireworks from communities all across Long Island Sound while listening to the The Dixie Dandies. Held rain or shine, from 7:15-9 p.m. at Manor Park, 99 Park Ave. Sorry, no picnics.
Westchester Symphonic Winds and Ryan Silverman
An evening of fireworks and musical pops by the Westchester Symphonic Winds, and Broadway's Ryan Silverman. American patriotic music and pop will be followed by fireworks after the concert. Peekskill Fire Department July 4th Parade & Fireworks
Take in the parade Friday afternoon from 10 am-noon, from Highland Avenue south to Division Street, then west on South Street, then west on Hudson Avenue, to Riverfront Green. The free concert starts at 7-9 p.m., with fireworks at Riverfront at 9 p.m.
Scarsdale July 4th Carnival Day & Firework Spectacular

Nyack Fireworks
Find a place to park your blanket with a clear view of the southwest anywhere in Nyack and see fireworks displays up and down the Hudson River. Nyack on the west bank and Tarrytown on the east side both start their fireworks shows just before 9 p.m. You can see Nyack’s show launched from Memorial Park on the Hudson River.

U. S. Military Academy Independence Day Celebration and Fireworks Display
The West Point Band presents its annual Independence Day celebration concert starting at 8 p.m. The concert will start with the "Salute to the States," where a new cadet from each state presents the state's flag while the band plays. The evening will continue with music ranging from marches to rock and roll, and a cannon-accompanied performance of the 1812 Overture. Two state July 4th Extravaganza: Port Jervis NY and Matamoras PA
