Cindy Stys Equestrian Properties, Ltd. is collecting used tack to be sent to impoverished equestrians in Malawi and Swaziland, in Southern Africa.  This project, Tackful Mission, is part of a global leadership and training program Cindy Stys is enrolled in at Landmark Education.  Her connections to the International Equestrian Federation in Switzerland prompted Stys to link the local horse community to developing countries eager to be involved in horse sport.  Zoe Kayes, President of the Malawi Equestrian Federation in Zomba, has been lending her riding equipment to the local children and is giving them riding lessons.  Her goal is to establish riding programs at more schools; she is currently targeting St. Andrews Primary School in Blantyre, Malawi and is developing a riding program there.  “The children are Malawi’s future and that is why development in riding and other sports is so important” comments Kayes who says riding apparel, tack and grooming supplies are desperately needed.

The tack that was collected at the 4-H Tack Swap in April was donated to Equi-librium Therapeutic Riding Facility in Saylorsburg due to shipping difficulties to South Africa.  Due to limited storage space the tack had to be removed before we could figure out a shipping solution.  However recently, the President of the International Equestrian Federation, HRH Princess Haya, who Cindy had the pleasure of meeting and working with after the bombings of 911, has graciously offered to have the tack shipped to Africa.  To make it a worthwhile shipment, we need to gather more tack so are counting on your generosity.

Donations will be accepted at DelVal Horse Expo (Doylestown) Nov. 1 - 2, 2008 at our booth (#59)www.cshorseproperties.com
