California State Railroad Museum showcases "Journey Stories"

By
Real Estate Agent

The California State Railroad Museum in Old Sacramento has always been a special place to visit for folks who live here, and those that visit.

Because my dad found work back in 1941 at the Western Pacific Railroad here in Sacramento, he migrated from Kansas.  Railroads across America, acted as catalyst for much of the migration and expansion into the West.

Currently at the museum, a Smithsonian traveling exhibition titled, “Journey Stories” is being showcased.  The exhibit features a collection of personal stories from rail travelers, and helps memorialize railroad travel and history.

The traveling exhibit will be at the California State Railroad Museum for a stay of 3 months.  It premiered on June 21st.

The museum is located at 125 “I” Street, Sacramento 95814

For more information about the exhibit, you can visit the California State Railroad Museum website.

Myrl,

The Railroad was a great transport for so many industries.  We have the train that runs here with lots of cargo of all kinds.  It also opened up transportation for people to get to know each other...definitely a contribution to humanity.  Love, Love, your photo, I can almost reach and feel the train. Myrl - The Railroad Museum is such a wonderful place to spend an afternoon.  I am always fascinated by the the workings of the engines and the displays there.  I even found the electric train I had as a kid on display, not the same one but one like it.  Unfortunately, I have no real idea of what happen to mine.  Thanks for the pictures and the blog.
