Localism Post..Have a Sweet Tooth??

I am writing several localism posts to illustrate some of the unique and great places that people looking to move to South Davis County can experience. I am writing today about what used to be one of my favorite places to visit. The Bakery and Dick's Market. There are two locations for Dick's Market one in Centerville at 84 West Parrish Lane. The other is located on Orchard Drive in Bountiful just south of 2200 South.

Dick's Bakery has wonderful baked treats, some of my former favorites were eclairs, donuts and pumpkin chocolate chip cookies. If you have looked at photos of me, you know I shopped there a little too often! The treats are fresh, and well priced. They will also do speciality items if you order them. They also make great breads and rolls. The market is a good place to shop as well. I will be honest, it is the Bakery that kept me coming back!

Hi Tony and Darcy, As big as our city is, I have never found a bakery here that was worth driving to very often with one exception. I am not all that big on baked goods other than pies and I found the best, out in Juian about an hour away in the country.

Nothing better than a great Bakery. Too many sweets have passed thru my hands. Have to make a conscious effort to keep walking. Sometimes I win sometimes the bakery wins.

There is something about Sunday mornings that make me wake up with a sweet tooth. I think it's because when my kids were young, we called it donut morning. However, I have been resisting the urge lately. It sure makes life boring!
