I Got to Help With the Adoption in a Small Way. Helping By Being a Notary.
One of Integrity Real Estate Services's Buyer Clients are adoptive parents. Marty and Teresa have three beautiful children that they have adopted. The family moved all the way here from Washington State because they found one of my listings online.
We worked with them for several months to get them closed due to the type of property that they purchased... more about that in an upcoming blog... and got to know them pretty well. They have become friends. They have hearts as big as they come.
About six months ago, they thought they were going to adopt a fourth child, they got ready for it, but the birth mom and her family decided to keep the child. Marty and Teresa were pleased because their stand has always been about what is best for the child and that's the way they pray about it, and go about it. Teresa even homeschools the children because they believe that's what is best for them.
Last week, Marty called me asking if I was at the office because he needed something notarized. I was. Teresa was in another state adopting a new baby, while Marty was here tending to the business and taking care of their three children.
The wonderful thing about the electronic information age that we live in allowed Marty to walk in to the office with only his iphone and *email me the form that he needed notarized. *I printed it, * he signed it, *I notarized it, *scanned it back in, and *emailed it back to him and to the parties in the other state that were handling the adoption all within a matter of minutes.
There are many reasons that I enjoy having a real estate career. Most of those reasons wrap around getting to know and help others in my community. *Being a commissioned Oklahoma notary is one way that I can help at times.. this time to bring a new baby to a family. Now I'm waiting on the photos of the new baby!
