3 Steps to Manifesting Your Dream Home

Manifesting Your Dream Home

For years, my husband and I dreamed of having a boat and a home on the water. We love to visit friends who own or rent vacation homes in New York State and New England, and we love to go boating. Our favorite vacations have been spent on lakes and oceans, and we have rented many types of boats. (It's good to learn from your boating mistakes with rentals--we always bought the prop insurance!).

We had a vision of our dream home, but we needed to manifest it. But how do you do that? You must first believe and act as if you already have it. Visualize yourself living there. If the home you want already exists and is nearby, drive "home" from work to your dream home. When you leave the grocery store, point your car in the direction of your dream home and head there. Start to make purchases for your dream home. Wake up eacDream Home on Riverh morning with the belief that you are waking up in your dream home.

Making The Dream Reality

After each vacation, my husband visited his bookmarked websites listing waterfront properties for sale practically every day. But the years went by, and still we hadn't achieved our dream. Our mindset was that it was something that we were working hard for that we'd like to have someday. That is why we were stuck in the circumstances of not having it yet.

Then one day, I did something simple that changed our way of thinking. I bought a new set of everyday dishes, I put our old dishes in a box, I labeled the box "Lake House Dishes", and stored them in the attic. I was acting as if we already had a lake house even though we were no closer to owning one than we had been before.  That was the beginning of a series of events which quickly culminated in the manifestation of our dream home. Instead of always saying we'd like to have a home on the water someday, we started acting as if we already had it.

Taking Action

It's not enough, though, to just go around acting "as if"--you're going to have to take some kind of action. Pick up the phone and call that real estate agent, calculate what you can afford, put your house up for sale. Your dream home is not going to magically appear if you don't actually do anything to make it happen. You have to take action.

Living the Dream

Today we are living in a home on the Seneca River just a short boat ride from Cross Lake, and have access to several lakes, rivers, and even the ocean via the Erie Canal system of locks. We used the same visualization techniques to manifest our first boat. We cut out a magazine photo of a boat tied to a dock and taped it to a window facing the water. Every time we looked out that window we "saw" our boat in the water tied to our dock. We manifested our first boat two months after moving in. Now we are working on manifesting a bigger boat. Ooops--before I posted this, we actually bought a bigger boat--that was fast!!!

I like this spirit.  For our buyers, we have to help them manifest the dream.  As you pointed out, you bought not just a house on the lakefront but a lifestyle.

I'm planning on retiring (in several years) to Sonoma, 40 minutes from my house.  I go to Sonoma at least once a week.  I'm getting to know people there and businesses.  I'm introducing myself and telling people, I'm moving here!  My massage therapist in Sonoma.  Slow but sure...I too will manifest a dream!

I had a dream to own a historical home facing water or ocean.

A Victorian home is doable but it is not even insulated. To clean the home or maintaining it is difficult.  Flood insurance or wind facing the ocean in the winter is hard. During the Great Recession I went to Santa Cruz area and found out small cute homes costed arm and a leg in the midest of the Recession. Today it is 2X that.... We are happy where we live-in Northern CA.

I have always believed in this - althought I don't always practice it.  It's not about wishing and dreaming - but wishing and dreaming enough to do something about it.

You don't have to sell me on this topic! But like you spoke about, sometimes I just fall short of the manifestation. Other times, it is spot on!

So great hearing that your positive thinking enabled you and your husband to reach your goals!  I know that this works too, and love to hear stories like yours.  If people don't first believe, their mindset won't bring about the necessary things that have to happen to make their dreams come true.  Your river view looks so peaceful and calm.

Yes, sometimes many necessary things have to happen, which is why people give up so often.

Thank you for sharing this inspiring article about making your dream home a reality. I believe that finding a comfortable home is really the first step to achieving the American dream. Having a place we can call our own, where we feel pleased and satisfied, is an important part of our lives. As the author writes in the essay at https://graduateway.com/essay-examples/american-dream/ we all dream and want to make our dreams come true. Visualizing what we want can lead to incredible manifestations, just as it did for you. It's a reminder that by believing in our dreams and taking concrete steps toward them, we can turn them into reality.
