People have asked us about Zillow.com which is a real estate appraisal web site that will tell you the value of your home. It's a fascinating site complete with aerial shots of your neighborhood. It appears to be very cool/state of the art but... We pull up several houses and checked out their value. Not what we would call accurate results. Their estimate is based on old records of the subject property. Our house did not reflect the true square footage, number of bedrooms and baths and value of the lot size. In our estimation, Zillow's estimate was off substantionally. We're talking 8 hundred thousand dollars or more less than what we feel is the actual value.
