An Active Rain member without a blog is still a great Realtor!

Cape Cod windowI just finished reading http://activerain.com/blogsview/4433613/how-do-you-find-the-right-agent-on-active-rain-for-a-referral- and normally I would totally agree that without some form of blogging, an agent needs to identify themselves, their personality, their niche.

However, I was looking for a home for myself and needed a Realtor to look for me since it was out of state. I have quite a list of referral Realtors throughout the country, many from Active Rain, and Active Rain is usually my first choice when I need a referral.

I read through a few and sent a message to one that sounded pretty good. No response. I then went to all my FB groups and could not find anyone in this area. My next choice was Linkedin. Again I sent out a few emails and received no response!

Finally, I found one on Zillow!!!  I rechecked and saw that she had profiles on both AR and Linkedin, so I contacted her. Although her profile on AR was rather vague, she had quite a few recommendations on Zillow.

The point to all this is, not only do you as a Realtor need to have your name everywhere, you also need to answer your phone or email!!

And to give credit to one great, over the top Realtor, here is her profile on AR

Hi Karen

I remember you talking about this process a couple months ago when we had our meet-up. All the PR in the world doesn't do you any good if you don't respond to requests vai emai, text or phone.

I am guilty of this myself because I have soooooo many emails! But I do eventually get back to everyone, hopefully within a decent time frame:)

So true Karen...there are so many when you reach out who never follow up with a response...you can text too to say you are tied up & will get back to you at this time!

Ginny, I have found that even texting does not solicit a response lately!   So much for technology!

I hope you convince her it's worth her time to blog. Just think of the business she would get. So happy this all worked out for you.

I have invited quite a few people to AR over the years... many of whom are of the old school/who needs a website variety.

It's always good to put one's name out there.
