We took the boat out to enjoy the beautiful views of downtown Stockholm with the grandsons. They especially enjoyed going through the lock between the Baltic Sea and Lake Mälaren. It's quite dramatic to cruise past the Town Hall, which is the site of the Nobel Prize Awards dinner, the Royal Palace and Old Town. Stockholm consists of 14 islands which offer wonderful opportunities for viewing this marvelous city from the water. The old buildings are magnificent to see nestled amongst some new modern buildings. Much of the waterfront is available for public use and we surely observed that on this warm sunny day where people were sunbathing and swimming in the downtown Stockholm waterfont.
