Whether it is what you say....or how you say it...your attitude shows...today we got a new listing with a client...we will be working with their relocation company and enjoyed their "can do" attitude with being willing to do anything and everything to put their best house forward. They told us that they could tell that we LOVED what we do....and enjoyed our enthusiasm for the business and the custom marketing plan we prepared. A mutual admiration society...nothing better...we all approached the upcoming sale with the kind of enthusiasm that we know will propel the sale to the greatest of heights and garner the "highest and best offer."
On the other side of attitude...we are making appointments with vendors for the remodeling of our kitchen. I had emailed this supplier a couple times with no response....and then called to have an assistant arrange an appointment. We wrote down the appointment and the contractor called two days early to say he was "on his way" to our appointment... and not fitting well into our work day, we cancelled this "appointment." I emailed again to try and arrange a mutually convenient time. I got a "thanks for cancelling your appointment and the Big Heads Up when I called to say I was on my way."
What ? Gone are the days of "the customer is always right." Apparently it could not have been the vendor who had an error on HIS calendar...it must have been me.
Attitude is contagious...teamwork is priceless....and when you don't find that cohesiveness....it is sometimes better to walk from the relationship....we did and will find someone who values our relationship...and wants our business. Just say "Bye" not "Buy" when the respect is absent in the beginning...the relationship can only deteriorate further.
