Free Movie Nights in Danbury, CT
Although Danbury, CT is now several centuries old, the city is still establishing new traditions. This summer Danbury, CT initiated yet another event for its denizens: free movie nights on Thursdays in July, open to all. This activity is hosted by the Danbury Parks and Recreation Department.
Families, friends, neighbors and guests can enjoy these free movies in Danbury at the Candlewood Town Park, located on Hayestown Road, at the southern tip of Candlewood Lake.
The first movie to air, the ever popular FROZEN, premiered on July 10, which happened to be a beautiful, one might say perfect, summer evening.
Below is the schedule of upcoming attractions for the rest of July:
- THE PRINCESS BRIDE - Thursday, July 17th
- GROWN UPS - Thursday, July 24th
- IRON MAN - July 31
All movies start at dusk. The rain date for all the shows is July 30th.
Viewers are encouraged to bring a picnic meal and their own lawn/beach chairs to help enjoy the evening to the fullest. The Candlewood Town Park’s concession stand will also be open before and during the shows.
Free parking is available across the street from the Candlewood Town Park, at the Danbury PAL building, 35 Hayestown Road, Danbury, CT.
