I see you, prospect! I see that you check the new listings every single day....sometimes more often than that. I see that you've saved a couple homes that seem to suit you. I see that you have checked the map to find out where the home is and the Google Earth link to check out the lot.

I see you!

I'm not stalking you! I want to help! 

I want to help you by answering questions. I want to help by giving you a lender referral. I want to help by setting up a showing for any of these homes. I want to help by writing offers and getting them accepted.

  • I'm not here to push you.
  • I'm not here to "sell you a house"
  • I'm not here to change your goals
  • I'm not here to move up your time line

I am a professional, and yes....I make my living, pay my bills and provide for my family by working in real estate. Let's be honest, I'm not a consultant who is happy to just hang out at the coffee shop and spout my wisdom. But that said, 

I'm only successful when my clients are satisfied!! 

I understand that everyone has bought something based on a slick sales pitch....absolutely everyone. But do you really think that you would buy a home that way? There are so many stages to the buying process, that reason and common sense has lots of time to make an appearance.

I would like to have the opportunity to talk about your goals, your time frames and your needs. I promise that you won't get off the phone owning a new home. :)

Nice post, Karen.  I avoid the 'sales' approach, too.  If the real intention is to help someone meet their goals & needs, everything else just seems to fall into place, nothing more annoying than a hard sell.

Karen- good one!  I think most of us turn and run the other way when we get a whiff of a hardcore salesperson.
