Ups and downs of activity

Two weeks ago, after a long winter of clouds and rain, the sun peaked out, and guess what, so did the buyers.  Living in Western Washington, it didn't take long for the cloud to return, and along with that, the buyers seem to have retreated.   I feel weather plays a role on real estate activity, who wants to look at homes in the blowing rain.

If I had to pin point other periods when activity seems at it lowest, I would say that last two weeks of August when those who reside in the Pacific Northwest  seem to be taking advantage of the remaining sunny summer days, or maybe focused on getting in the last camping trip, even gearing up kids for the upcoming school year.  It is just a quiet time.

I'm sure these swings vary from area to area, how about in your area?  Do you see the same swings, and do you see any patterns to them?

Our market is so unusually slow right now due to the bubble burst it is hard to say if weather is a contributing factor. We are so use to a robust real estate market starting in April lasting right through to October....or longer. We are all holding our breath hoping we have seen the bottom. We miss the good 'ol days!

I miss those days too!  Although the Pacific Northwest is picking up, there are days it seems like a really expensive hobby.  Good think I love it!
