Dragon Boat Festival 2014 will take place at the Burlington waterfront on Sunday, August 3rd. This 9th annual event is a fundraiser for breast cancer patients and survivors. 1,600 Vermonters will race 41 foot long dragon boats in 200 meter sprints. The races occur between 8:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. Teams are comprised of community organizations, local businesses, clubs, family and friends. 100% of the donations go to Vermont residents. Hi Lisa - It's not something that automatically comes to mind when we think about Vermont, but that would be huge fun to attend. I got to see a Dragon Boat festival when I was in southern India - it was a really big deal there.

Dragon boat racing is gaining in popularity; a Realtor friend is on a Portland, Oregon team; friends in SF and the Peninsula participate. I can imagine yours was great.
