As I sit here in 85 degree weather waiting for my grandparent's party to start I thought I would take a minute to reflect on why I like Seattle. My husband says that there is a mix of rain and snow right now and that it is a bit dark already. I am in the glaring bright climate of Arizona and although I do like a break from the cool Seattle spring days here and there, the sheer brightness here hurts my head! The desert is in bloom and just gorgeous! Sometimes getting acclimated is tough. I love Seattle's mild cool climate in the spring!

Courtney -
I figured out why I like my town - CHICAGO!
I am INSANE - that's why!
I love 43 grey, windy snow days each winter. Cold, windy weather. My car door locks and garage service door freezing up. Shoveling four times each week. Three-inch wet, slushy snowfalls at the end of March. Fourteen inch snows that freeze overnight in January.
My mother calling me up daily complaining about the cold weather - even though she has lived her for going on 70 years!
Just when you think it couldn't - here it comes:
I'm a Chicago Cub fan, and a Season Ticket Holder, and I will be freezing my buns off at Wrigley Field on Opening Day, Monday, March 31st, for a team that hasn't won the World Series since before radio was invented (1908!).
Ahhh, but this town builds CHARACTER! We haven't had an earthquake or brushfire in a very long time. Very few folks around here get botox injections. And most folks butts here in town are bigger than the entire city of Seattle.
And, of course, my friends and family are here. That's what really makes a city - HOME!
You're homesick, Courtney - go home soon, and enjoy Seattle - what a great, but over-caffeinated town. But you're ever near Chicago, come on by . . .
. . . so we can cheer you up!
