4. The Space Coast of Brevard County
Home to world reknown Cape Canaveral and Cocoa Beach, Florida’s Space Coast has gorgeous beaches that 75% of Florida’s nesting Loggerhead and Green Turtles return to year after year to lay their precious eggs. That plus some of the best surfing in the world make Brevard County a great place to visit.
5. Miami
When you think about Miami, you might imagine celebrities, beaches, palm trees and the hot South Beach night-life. However, Miami also offers fashion, great dining and entertainment. Miami is a cultural melting pot and is an international destination.
7.Tampa/St.Petersburg/Clearwater
These three cities are more commonly known as Tampa Bay. Sitting on the Gulf of Mexico, the white sand beaches are a huge draw. St. Petersburg offers a great waterfront and The Pier. 8. Sanibel Island
Sanibel Island is a unique barrier island. It has an east to west layout that is different from the more typical north-south layout. Known as one of the “Shell Islands”, Sanibel is known for having prime seashell gathering beaches.
9. Captiva Island
Just as with Sanibel, Captiva Island is known as being one of the Shell Islands of Florida. Known for a prime place to find larger conch shells, it is important to remember to only take shells that do not have any current tenants!
10. Everglades National Park
Everglades National Park is the largest sub-tropical natural wilderness in the United States and is a prime area to see unique wildlife. You can see alligators, manatees, birds like egrets, spoonbills and mangrove forests all from atop an airboat.
