Sandra - One thing that I have a heard from a couple of real estate professionals here is that when you go on a listing presentation Marketing proposal - Active Rain/Real Estate Professional Neal Bloom taught me that word. Tell the homeowners to type your name into the search engine and see how many times it comes up. The person who names come up the most, that's who the homeowner should choose as their Real Estate Professional to sell their house. Just like we all know,we need to stop using the same words are competitors. We need to think more outside of the box and be different. Great post.
Thanks Lanre. I check and I do come up on at least the whole first page and scattered throughout the rest, but I would prefer to come up under more generic searches, like Corona del Mar Open house or newport Beach golf course views. Things like that. Great tip none-the-less.
Just a suggestion, print out a page in your listing presentation that highlights you as the #1 Agent in your area and a list of your blogs about the area. Sellers just look at you in awe!
I do something similar to that Kelly, except I pull up the generic search term their home can be found under. If you write the post correctly, when you post it to your blog, their home will come up on the first page. (Gotta love that SEO!) I feel that a potential buyer finding my clients home on the internet, as opposed to my name is the most important thing.
#1 is a great thing, but exposure for a clients home, and who can offer that is what is really important, to the client. (Although, it is nice to see my name come up as much as it does...)
