There are several quaint and tranquil neighborhoods in San Jose. The Rosegarden is one such neighborhood and a favorite of mine. The shady tree lined avenues are nostalgic of my upbringing in Pennsylvania.
A wonderful feature of the Rosegarden area of San Jose is the Municipal Rose Garden at the corner of Naglee and Dana Avenues. The Rose Garden receives thousands of visitors each year to view the beautiful varieties of roses in a profusion of colors and types. The Rose Garden is a very colorful location and includes several fountains and a reflecting pool, making it a great spot for a stroll or quiet relaxation.
The Rosicrucian Egyptian Musem is also located in the Rose Garden area of San Jose and offers a look back into ancient history.
West Hedding Street is one of the main arteries from Bascom Avenue to downtown San Jose. It is a mixture of old and new - newer Spanish style andTudors are intertwined with the 1920 bungalows.
