How can Textures in Feng Shui Affect your Perspective on Life?

Feng Shui takes into consideration all the senses we experience that shape the energetic connections in our daily lives.

As I work with my clients I always remind them to do their best in creating a balance of soft vs hard textures throughout their home. It's important to understand when working with energy, what you see and touch can absolutely contribute to emotions circulating within your surroundings and self.

Let's say you had a rough day that created stress. Soft textures can help encourage a more 'soft' spoken individual, feel calmer, cozy and tranquil. Think about it, when people go to sleep, ideally they are looking forward to laying down on a bed that is full of soft pillows and a comforter.

Perhaps in your office setting you see employees lack structure. Feng Shui would suggest to try using textures that help reinforce that energy of structure and order.

Understand you intention of use for each texture and that will contribute to it's shift in energy sensation.

I never knew that!  I always thought it was about "placement" of things but it sounds much broader than that.

Thank you Laura.  I could have used some soft textures around my desk earlier this week.

Make it a great rest of the week.

I think the hard surfaces in an office setting are good, but there needs to be some softer surfaces so it's not all about structure.

I see your point Laura. I definitely feel the effects of texture in my life. I think that I could do with some of these practices in my own home but I love our office setup. We have Mahogany wood throughout, such as our desks, but we have the most plush beautiful carpet in the wood; I think we've struck the right balance in our office.
