Happy Friday.

Do you ever stop? You get up in the morning, have your coffee, check your email, of course check out "AR" and see what new blogs you need to bookmark (actually I love this part of the day). Then you get your kids off to school (after giving them a check for something or other) feed the dog, clean up your house, and get ready for your first appointment. Then you hit that appointment right on time, after that you are going to the office for just a "couple of hours". By the way, you need to stop for gas too (gosh I hate those prices right now)!!!

Then you go on broker preview, come back to prepare your paperwork for the next day's presentation, and then you have a computer program issue. After an hour on the phone with tech support, you get your paperwork prepared and you are set to go for your next appointment.

Now it is roughly 7:30 pm, and you have just gotten home and just a few more things you need to do. You need to email some photos to a prospect that you spoke to, set up an appointment for tomorrow, and prepare your contracts. Now it is 8:00 pm and you still have time to  communicate with my fellow AR buddies.

Spend some family time and do it all over again tomorrow!!!!

What a great business and I love it . . .

I never did stop for gas today - better go tomorrow after my morning appointment.

I wish my fellow Active Rainer's a great and productive weekend!!

SELL, SELL, SELL this weekend Sharon!  And, YES--Monday through Sunday is like that for me!!  I love it but, am SERIOUSLY looking forward to a vacation and oh, how soon!!

Ah, both the blessing and the curse of this business, Sharon.  Flexibility with a price.  It is true that the day never really seems to end for us.  I can't remember that last honest to goodness "day off" where I didn't do something business related.

03/28/2008 10:07 PM by Paul Slaybaugh, Scottsdale AZ Real Estate (Realty Executives)

Ditto Debe - I wish you a productive weekend. There is a definite energy and I love it!!!! I need a vacation as well - I am hoping to get one in soon - I'll probably bring my laptop though!!!!

03/28/2008 10:10 PM by Sharon Paxson (Prudential California Realty)

Paul - yes it is "both a blessing anc a curse" and it is "addicting!!! I know my family would appreciate if I could just "walk away" from the computer for a while, or not run out the door to an appointment.

Thanks for writing!

Thanks Sharon, have yourself a great weekend too! Hope it's productive and fun too.

03/28/2008 10:14 PM by Jim Albano (Prudential Damiano Realty)

Yes, Oh yes, my children are grown, so that's out of my picture but the rest is true...I blog on AR to relax and learn something new everyday! Sell tomorrow! You go girl! :-)

I love it too, except when it comes to the end of the year and I think...where did the year go? We need to take time for ourselves and try to slooooow it down!

Nope, I never stop.  Its 1037pm on a Friday night and look where I am.  AR is my downtime after a hard days work.

I'd write more, but I have to check the new listings on the MLS for the day.

Sharon, I feel like I'm reading about my day here lol.  The days go so fast don't they!  All I can say is, good thing for coffee!

03/29/2008 12:03 AM by Colorado Springs Realty Patricia Beck (Prudential Professional Realtors, GRI)

Take the kids out of the picture and that is pretty much my day... Yikes, isn't amazing that sometimes we get so busy being busy that we forget the little things like gas in the car.

03/29/2008 09:10 AM by Kim Kelley (Coldwell Banker Sky Ridge Realty)

Jim - thanks -  you have a great weekend too!

Karen - this is the schedule daily!

Colleen - sometimes we need to slow down - I agree.

Michael - here I am first thing this morning - "commenting"!!!

Kent - agreed - I have to get ready for a presentation this morning.

Patricia - I'm enjoying a  cup of coffee right now!

Kim - yes I agree Kim "we get so busy being busy that we forget the little things like gas in the car." I've got to get gas today!

Have a  great weekend everyone and thanks for writing.

I never stop... to the point of breaking my ankle two years ago as I was rushing around putting up Open House signs (with a bad cold, of course). I looked property on the way home from the hospital after my surgery, I showed homes all summer on crutches (could not put weight on my ankle for 2 months as it was totally "destroyed" as the doctor put it)... and here I am, mended almost fully and off to show more houses in an hour.

Why, you ask? Because I LOVE IT! I love the constant excitement, the day to day changes that occur and the smiles on happy faces when it all comes together. I know that my success is completely a reflection of my high energy, absolute devotion and love for my business. It comes through in everything that I do.

So time off? Maybe... tomorrow:).

03/29/2008 09:58 AM by Christi Borden, CIPS, ABR, GRI (Prudential Gary Greene, Realtors)

Christi - I am sorry about your ankle. I am sitting here on AR, however going on a presentation in a couple of hours. Then I have an appointment with someone else, go to the sign store.

Then I am going to the office for "just a couple of hours" to prepare for my appointment tomorrow!!! I still have to get gas in my  car - for sure today (or I will run out), and at some point for sure - I have to buy groceries.

I love it too . . . take care of your ankle and go and sell!!!!

I think it's pretty hilarious that as I read your post, I'm drinking morning coffee, cruising Active Rain and planning my day! ;)

Sharon I hired 2 assistants last year and assigned them some of my duties. I actually limit my working hours now, and I had an excellent 2007. I might even hire another assistant in 2008. Take care.

03/29/2008 10:16 AM by Kevin Robinson (Crownline Home Builders)

In the immortal words of Winston Churchill, "Never give in.  Never, never, never..."  (you get the idea)...

Thanks! Steve

One of the reasons I love hanging out with other Realtors (either in the real or virtual world) is that we are capable of true multi-tasking and in fact crave the constant activity and interaction with clients and others. Wishing you all a great weekend!

03/29/2008 01:10 PM by

Angela - in fact I was doing the same enjoying my morning coffee, had an appointment and now it is off to the office

Kevin - I will consider hiring an assistant at some point - I'm sure it helps you stay focused.

Steve - Never give in . . . I love it!

Thanks for writing!

Real estate is the perfect business for the jugglers amongst us Sharon. I see you are one too : )

03/29/2008 11:22 PM by Gary Woltal - REALTOR® Dallas Ft. Worth (Keller Williams Realty)

Gary - Yes I am a juggler too!!! Have a great day!

03/30/2008 09:54 AM by Sharon Paxson (Prudential California Realty)

Are we all one and the same?l  That sounds alot like my days, but I did stop for gas.  I am ready to go again for the day!

03/31/2008 06:47 AM by Elkhart-Evelyn Johnston (Prudential One Realty)

Evelyn - it sounds as though so many of us are managing the same things. There is a lot to juggle, but it is a great business!!!

03/31/2008 11:09 AM by Sharon Paxson (Prudential California Realty)

Thanks for the reminder to stop and get gas.  I better get on that now so I'm not late to my next appointment...

03/31/2008 11:22 AM by Joe Johnson (Coldwell Banker Preferred Partners)

OK - I finally stopped on Saturday and my gas gauge said I had 14 miles until I ran out . . . and I was hurrying even then!! I used the time to clean out my car (water bottles, etc.)

03/31/2008 11:29 AM by Sharon Paxson (Prudential California Realty)

Sharon, you sure must sell a good amount of real estate.  You love your job and you work hard at it.  Good luck!

04/05/2008 02:32 AM by Mark Organek - Tempe Gilbert Mesa Chandler REALTOR (RE/MAX Alliance)

It's good to know everyone else out there is as "addicted" to real estate as I have been for most of my adult life!  It IS so hard to turn off.  We laugh about it, but we really do need to carve out personal and family time in which real estate is just NOT done.  Finding that important balance is probably the hardest part of this wacky world of real estate!

Keller Williams is all about balance - and we're finally learning !

LOL from Wacky Jacki !!

04/05/2008 08:00 AM by Jacki & Jerry Shafer, The Shafer Real Estate Team (The Shafer Real Estate Team, Keller Williams Louisville East)

Mark - it is very busy right now - and every situation is different . . . I love it!

Jackie and Jerry - I am trying to have some balance too  . . . .we all need it!
