I just read a very interesting piece on www.FarmFutures.com published today, July 17, 2014, that reiterates and backs up what I have been saying for months regarding land prices in Nebraska for 2014.
I have listed and sold Nebraska farm land for prices that are higher than similar land in previous years. I have written numerous articles stating that although "someday" prices may fall..."someday" isn't today.
Prices are stable and some are even rising in Nebraska...
Just as I had mentioned in this blog here on June 6, 2014: http://activerain.com/blogsview/4415689/is-the-sky-falling--no--nebraska-ag-land-values-holding-steady-in-2014
I also wrote about what drives land prices up or down and why I did not think prices would drop the first half of the year...see it here on Feb 6, 2014: http://activerain.com/blogsview/4321043/farm-land-values--as-corn-prices-go---so-goes-the-price-of-land-
You can read what Farm Futures had to say about Nebraska land values stabilizing and increasing as well as what is happening in surrounding states on their blog listed below.
The Farm Futures article and website is a very good venue to keep up with the farming industry. You can find their article here: http://farmfutures.com/story-farmland-prices-stabilizing-northern-plains-survey-finds-0-115174
Continue to check back with Mike McCann here: http://activerain.com/profile/agexpert as the season progresses for continuing updates as well as an early fall update on land coming on the market and where values are at. Corn futures and prices at the elevators are low right now...if that holds true...it could set up up for an interesting fall.
Until Next Time.....
