Steel Framing is significantly stronger than wood framing.  It actually has the highest strength to weight ratio of any comon residential building material.

  • Steel frames don't burn and in some areas they may qualify you for discounted insurance premiums
  • Steel frames are not affected by weather conditions like wood.  Wood frames expand, contract, warp, and bulge while steel frames stay true
  • Safer in wind, snow, and earthquakes.  Steel frames can be engineered for many applications with high wind and snow loads as well as the highest seismic ratings available.
  • Quality consistency with steel is greater than wood.  Walls and ceilings are straighter and true.  Wood is inconsistent from board to board.
  • Green material- Not only is a steel home generally stronger than wood.  Red Iron and galvanized steel used in metal framed buildings is amongst the most recycled materials in the world today

I've seen one of your steel homes.  I would have never know it was a chief building unless i was told it was.  The outside walls are really thick but other than that it looks like any other home built.
