Lake Champlain in Burlington, Vermont, offers something to boating enthusiasts that no other Adirondack lake can: Limitless possibilities.

Lake Champlain is navigable by sail boat, cruisers, fishing boats, and even barges! Lake Champlain is open to any type of vessel - you can bring or rent any kind of boat on Lake Champlain.

If you own a boat, it will be more than welcome on the lake - but you can also rent one from a local marina, of which many high quality ones are open in the area.

If you're looking to cruise the lake in absolute serenity, then a canoe, kayak or paddle board will make for an ultra-peaceful, natural experience. Good environmental policies and local stewardship make for a pristine natural habitat to soak in with the entire family.

The lake also accommodates the individualistic adventurer: Several public launches make it possible to explore the lake from many angles and they're all absolutely beautiful! Imagine picking a launch on your own and gliding across the lake in your kayak, free to either drift with her currents or navigate the shore.

Lake Champlain is indisputably known as the "boater's paradise", with its sandy shores, tucked-away private bays, secluded places to anchor, and expansive waterways.

Lake Champlain is a whopping 125 miles in length, and 14 miles wide. That's a lot of room for boats (and, some might say, for local legend 'Champ'!).

The lake is well-stocked with many species of fish ideal for a sportsman. It has an average depth of 64 feet, but its maximum depth is an impressive 400 feet just north of Westport, New York.

One aspect of Lake Champlain that makes it so unique is its geographical diversity: It's accessible from New York City, the Atlantic Ocean and Montreal. Here's an example: You could travel by boat from the Atlantic Ocean, through New York City up the Hudson River all the way to Lake Champlain, and continue north right into Montreal!

So whether you're swimming, paddle-boarding, cruising, tubing, kayaking, canoeing, enjoying BBQ on a pontoon, sailing, scuba diving, fishing, kite-surfing, or water skiing - we can't wait to see you out there!
