Do you have a theory on where to move? Relocation genius?

seattle real estateMy mother has this theory about relocation.  Before I go into it, I should start out by saying that we moved a lot when I was a child.  I lived in Pascagoula, Mississippi and then Houston and then back to Mississippi and then to the San Francisco Bay Area before I left home and came up to the Seattle area.  When I left, my family moved down to the LA area.  Needless to say, my mom is an expert mover.

My mom's theory is that why should she bother researching where to live when someone has already done it for her.  You see my mother shops at William-Sonoma, Pottery Barn, JJill, Chicos, etc. and is convinced that she is their target demographic. She is convinced that if these stores have already spent so much money researching where their target demographic lives, then all she has to do is find where these stores are and she will love her community.

It has actually worked for her, though I personally think it is crazy.  Then again, I do love my Target and my Trader Joes.... hmmm.

What do you think? Snobbery or genius?  I guess it does depend on what you like.  I guess I am a bit biased, but I tend to think that a Realtor might be more helpful... :)

Looks like her theory is well founded. Someone has spent money to research, and if she feels comfortable in that surrounding, she is simply hitting the jackpot.

Good for her.
