Real Estate Agent with Keller Williams Preferred Realty

What do all those Coming Soon signs on top of Real Estate signs mean?Real Estate Coming Soon Sign - Carla Freund Realty

All of a sudden, home buyers are seeing Real Estate signs with Coming Soon on them all over town. So, are you wondering what it means?

There are times sellers are getting their homes ready to sell or Agents are prepping a home to get it ready to sell. The coming soon sign let's the general public know it's about to be placed on the market.

The owner and Realtor cannot allow home buyers to view it until it is available for all home buyers to view. It's simply letting you know, it's about to come on the market.

If you see a house you want to view in the Cary, Apex, Holly Springs, Raleigh, Durham, Chapel Hill or surrounding areas, get in touch with the Carla Freund Realty Team and we'll make sure you're notified as soon as the home is available.

Carla, If the signs are used for a couple of days, certainly no more than one week, prior to going on the MLS ... I feel they serve a useful purpose.  When they go up for weeks and weeks prior to going on the MLS I feel they are mis-used.  I have one in my area that has been "coming soon" for six weeks now.  I even blogged about it.

I wish you all the best with your coming soon listing!

Kathleen, I agree with you. They might be serving a purpose but, most likely not for the seller.

I agree with Kathleen....they do seem to be misused.  My neighborhood had a home with an agent's sign in the yard for a couple months.  There wasn't a "coming soon" attached...just a regular sign.  However, the home was not listed.  I didn't think they could have a sign if they weren't listed.

Sharon, It's unfortunate when they're misused. I believe it giving my sellers the best edge but, the right way.

I guess a coming soon sign could build up some anticipation, as drivers by would not be able to see the home, but that could only last for a few days. I think people would get real turned off if they saw a coming soon sign for more than a couple weeks, and feel like the home will never really be for sale.
