Farmers Market
Nothing is better at bringing a community together than a good ole’ fashioned farmers market. The buffalo grove farmers market is has been around for only a few years. However, on a beautiful day, you are sure to see a big crowd from the local community enjoying the sun with a big juicy peach in hand and bags of fresh local produce. With fresh fruits and vegetables from local farms, the Buffalo Grove farmers market also has several food trucks offering some tasty eats, prepared baked goods and several activities for kids.
The farmers market is right next to the Spray n’ Play park complete with spray park and a large playground for the kids when they start to get antsy.
The Buffalo Grove farmers market is open from June through October at the parking lot in Mike Rylko Community Park in front of Spray 'n Play, 951 McHenry Rd. The market operates from 8:00 am - 12:30 pm.
Willow Stream Pool/Park
Buffalo Grove is really lucky to have Willow Stream as it has just about everything! Located in the Strathmore neighborhood, Willow Stream has two playgrounds great for all ages, several soccer and baseball fields, great walking paths and a frisbee golf course. In the summer, Willow Stream is the host of several family friendly events. Located at one end of the park is Willow Stream pool equip with a huge pool with wheelchair access and lap swimming. Kids will love their diving boards, the big, twisty water slide and hot food at the concession stand. The little ones get their own area with kiddie pool complete with spray structures. BG Park District
The Buffalo Grove Park District is as robust as you can find in any community park district. They offer a huge variety of adults and teen activities and opportunities for education. They have a wonderful seniors program complete with drop in Mah Jong and Pinocle. The summers are filled with excellent camp programs for kids of all ages.
