I get these Tweets as they call them from people who can promise me thousands of followers if I click and inquire. Okay. Then, I am reminded of how you can buy "likes" on Facebook for a price. In the end, we are presenting what? What is having all these people following you really mean? I understand in the world of politics, it may mean votes
SOCIAL ARENAS
In the social arenas, does it mean you are the best friend to have or the most popular? Do consumers who follow these numbers say to themselves...Oh, this person must be good or do a good job BECAUSE they have lots of followers?
INTIMACY?
Maybe it is as simple as having bragging rights. Someone comes to know you and then sees you are sought after by the masses and they instantly want to know you more? How does anyone who has that many followers maintain any intimacy for that matter. Quantity versus quality enters the mind for review
SPAM AND SCAM HEAVEN
When trying to engage a person's vanity or insecurity for gain, the Internet is a scammers paradise. You see people who take advantage of others play the numbers and sure enough, out of all the millions of people out there, someone will bite. Then, the nonsense you got into bites you back
REVIEWS MAKE SENSE
Similar.... but not the same are reviews. Now that to me makes better sense. You visit with or do business with a trade or retail center or purchase a product and those that have gone before you comment on the experience. Now that is a good use to people coming together and sharing for the benefit of all
WHERE LIKES AND FOLLOWERS MAKE MORE SENSE
By the time you finished reading about a cruise, an adventure, a restaurant, product, or venture, you know where you and whatever stands. If someone "likes" or doesn't in that world, it is relevant. If there are lots of followers and subscribers via input and feedback, that is useful information
When we ask William Shakespeare what he thinks: To like or not like is not the question. It is whether it benefits you and others...Thank you William
