"It's the Top 4-5 Weeks of the Summer ... Ocean City, New Jersey
As we arrive in mid-July, and continue along in the rental season here in Ocean City (NJ) into mid-August; we hit the top 4 or 5 rental weeks of the summer. We've been building up ... and this Saturday (July 25th) is the second most rented week of the summer ... plus it will be "Night in Venice" Saturday with the boat regatta and bayside and other locations having parties during this time frame.
Next weekend will be Saturday (August 2nd) which is the #1 most rented week of the summer. But each Saturday following that will continue to be strong weeks ... but slowly getting less and less rentals making the August 22nd and 29th the final two rental weeks in the top 10 or 11 weeks through the summer. Labor Day, which is on September 1st this year, more or less wraps up the summer rental season.
Many adults with children not yet in school make the decision to rent in September when the rates are lower and the crowds are only here on the weekends. And many more of the aging population who would rather be down here without the crowds make a decision to also rent in September.
And the only thing better than September might be October. That's when the "Indian Summer" weather arrives making it almost just as nice to be on the beach for a lovely Wednesday afternoon when you can easily count the number of people on the beach with two-to-four hands.
Of course, the "Fall Buying Period" arrives with Labor Day ... and the Buyers still manage to make the weekend trip down to the shore.
