How Realtors® show homes…...what’s your showing type?
At the open house I held on Sunday, I had a large turn out including two different couples being escorted by their Realtor®. One agent introduced herself, presented her card and asked if she could show the home. The other just dropped her business card on the greeting table and walked past me without even a hello.
The first walked through with her clients writing down questions they had. At the end of showing the home, she stopped by me, asked their questions, and thanked me for my time.
The second lead her customers through the home making negative comments about just about everything in the home - older sky lights, older saltillo tile, stairs in the home, plaster rather than pebble tech pool, etc, etc, etc. As she was escorting her clients out, again without a word to me, the Mr. stopped by me quickly, asked for a card and left with a wink.
I looked at this agent’s card and recognized her as selling typically ONLY in the newer tract home subdivisions - certainly not an older custom home in a quaint little neighborhood. Okay, so older doesn’t appeal to YOU, but………
About an hour later, I received a call from Mr. buyer. He wanted to work with an agent who KNEW the area and KNEW the older homes as he and the Mrs. don’t like newer TRACT homes or his agent whom he met at one of her open houses.
Moral to this story:
Don’t show homes in an area you’re not familiar
or
don’t share YOUR opinion just because YOU like something different.
It’s about the customer and what they like!!!!!
