My Donald got us some great veggies last week and he got himself some beef ribs. There are SO many reasons to shop at a local Farmer's Market that I don't know where to begin.
- freshness of product
- supporting local farmers
- knowing stock is grass fed
- knowing eggs come from free range chickens
- keeping our dollars in the local economy
- doing business with your neighbors
I hope the weather cooperates in August. It's been a very strange July with cooler and wetter conditions than we're used to seeing.
The location is the Presbyterian Church
210 South Wayne Street
Fall Line Farmers Market has a web page on Facebook you can "LIKE" to keep up with what's happening next and check out who the vendors will be. Perhaps as time goes on it will grow and more vendors will participate.
The participating vendors are:
Babe & Sage Farm: bread, egss, produce
Three Centuries Farm: Grass-fed pork and poultry
Salamander Springs Farm: Produce and Potted Plants
Evergreen East Farms: grass-fed pork and lamb
The Little Farm: produce, salsa, bread
Fort Creek Farm: grass-fed beef
Rocking Chair Ranch: grass-fed beef
The Fall Line Farmers Market is held on the front lawn of the Presbyterian Church from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. on First Fridays: May, June, August and September 2014 in conjunction with Milledgeville Mainstreet's fun "first Fridays" events.
