Half Empty or Half Full

Everybody has heard the saying, do you see the glass half empty or half full a million times or more.  And yet somehow it always comes down to seeing things half empty or half full.  Think about it -- I mean really think about it, again. There is a big difference you know!

ActiveRain Community Rocks

This morning I finally had a chance to get on ActiveRain after a few days of being away.  I read a few posts, which are normally uplifting and inspiring. And low and behold I read bunch of half empty posts - or rather - I read a bunch of posts written by folks who are looking at the glass half empty.  I then dug a little deeper I realized that there are other people writing directly to the people that are writing half empty posts and trying to get them to see the glass half full.

Now that in itself is kind of cool! Fellow ActiveRain members reaching out to other bloggers actively making the community a better place.

This is what ActiveRain is all about folks........

We are a amazing community of  real estate professinals working together to build good stuff. I don't need fancy words to spell this one out because we all know what good stuff means. Yes it's that simple.

My glass is more than half full on ActiveRain! How about you?

Laura, it can be whatever you want it to be! As you say, it's all perception.

Jeanne - indeed so you gotta love engineers. I'm married to an aerospace engineer!  His glass is always overflowing.......with details (which is a good thing for anybody who's flying).

Than I consider it a 'practice' of learning to stay on the positive side every day.  Once you get the hang of it - it's just like breathing air.

Myrl - that's makes me smile. We used to put on the Eagles song - Get Over It when the kids where teens.  At some point they'd start laughing and get over whatever 'drama' of the moment was playing out in their minds.

Anna- so well said.  We can drag each other down, but where would that lead us.... into a deep hole!   There are some days that I find myself scrolling through the blogroll and if I see some of the half full glasses, I decide to keep going until I find the half full glass.  I've had more calls recently than I can remember.. calls coming from my blogging efforts. I'm a happy camper.

Anna, I've always been a glass half full gal. I have a a longtime real estate friend who believes that I just ignore the negative side of business and only see the good. Not true, I deal with the negatives when I need to but I choose to focus on the positives.

Even when the glass looks full, you can keep filling it, you never know how much more you can add unless you try.

Whenever I feel the glass is getting depleted too quickly, I think about the same amount of fluid, in a smaller glass. Positive to the end

Great observation. I too noticed the pessimistic turn several topics had taken. I kept fighting the urge to force my optimistic attitude in the comments. I finally just bit the bullet and did my own positive post on the whole Zulia topic for example. ... It is easy to see all the "bad" that can happen in anything. It takes a positive attitude though to make a difference and make changes the pessimists can't even fathom.  Great post!!
