The Secret To Dominating Your Market Online
I get so many emails, messages and chats about how real estate agents are losing their first page SERPS rankings to the big ZTRs.
They tell me about how for years they showed up on page one for real estate terms that they suddenly lost.
When I review the keywords that are in question it is almost always about keywords that are very general.
Don't dismay so much about the general short tail keywords because those may have brought you a lot of leads. It is better to have fewer good leads than to have to chase down tons of leads just to find the few good ones.
We don't like it much either that the big companies have taken over so many real estate terms and they are even tough to compete with for PPC, ( Pay Per Click ads from Google).
So the way you stay alive online is to dominate for your longtail keywords. I remember that I was teaching you to do this back in 2009 and all those SEO gurus that used to be here on ActiveRain would come to beat me up on my blog about what a stupid strategy I had.
Guess who has the last laugh now? 
Those of you who followed this strategy of going after longtail keyword phrases have the business to show for it.
Dominating online is more than just getting one spot on page one for a longtail keyword. You need to dominate for many different longtail keywords which together add up to the phone calls and emails that you will get from buyers and sellers who are ready and asking to work with you.
And it is not just about that one spot for one keyword set. It is about syndicating your content through a mass of verticals available to you and getting several of those verticals to show up on page one on Google.
It is the combination of having at least 5-7 spots on page one with content that has your contact info on it somewhere.
I don't care what shows up on page one as long as it is verticals that you are participating in.
So if you have YouTube in one spot, your website in another spot, your ActiveRain blog in another spot, your facebook fan page in another spot, etc. ... you get the point, that altogether rocks your SEO.
Not only that but imagine your sellers being able to see that you are dominating in marketing online, it would behoove them to list with you!

It is easy to go chasing every shiny object that comes along but you will notice on my chart- these 5 SIMPLE tools have been around for a long time and keep on working.
You do need to spend time on the action steps. And of course, you need to pay attention to your competition and where they are ranking.
But don't fight the big ZTRs for keywords because there are way better keywords for you to dominate for that are still under the radar.
