I can't make that closing date.

That is what the loan officer told me.

Why?  I asked him.

Because the underwriters are busy and can't move any dates up.

Well, the date you think we want to move up is actually the closing date on the contract.

"Oh, I must have missed that.  We will get it done.

Amazing how one second he could not move the closing date up and the next it was no proble,

Again, the buyer is using an out of state lender with little information as to how we work in Minnesota.

This loan offiocer has messed a few things up for my client and now my client has to come up with about $750 more.

I will be talking to this lender in the morning.

Ouch!  I highly suggest out of state buyers use local lenders.  Just another way to keep things running smoother on a transaction.

I hate it when a buyer brings the unknown, unproven lender to the table.

William, let me at em.  As an ex-mortgage underwriter for a very successful company, PURCHASES ALWAYS COME FIRST.  So many of the companies and past employees I've talked to are bogged down because of refinances.  Sorry, but these companies really need to set their priorities or we'll find a way to not shut them down through the use of internet blogs like this.  Here's to a successful, ON TIME closing.

William - I am a huge proponent of local & known lenders for buyer clients... Nothing can replace a relationship or the ability to drive over (within reason) to the lenders office to be the squeaky wheel in the reception area.  Buyers never get it until it bites them in the bum... no matter how much we try to stress it.

Things always seem to sun smoother when a local lender is involved. Good luck, William.

I can see how that would chaff your hide.

Basically he just didn't want to close on that day.
