This week has been a very important week for our business. Our long range plan was always to expand our business form a single agent into somewhat of a boutique style brokerage in respect to customer service, but yet with the power and name of a big brand. The Metro Brokers brand, here in Colorado, allowed us to do just that. We are a group of independent companies working under the marketing umbrella of one of the most recognized real estate brands in the state.
As we have been with Metro Brokers for about 14 years, we conducted business under our trade name as Cavallaro Realty – which served us well over time as a single agent. However, as we began to add agents and expand, we found that our name may have actually been hindering us a bit. First, most people can’t pronounce our old name correctly and secondly, hardly anyone can spell it - which becomes a problem when they try to type the name for searches into the internet. Plus we felt the agents weren’t really taking ownership of the company with it being so difficult to pronounce.
Thus we came up with our new name RHINO REALTY PROS. The Rhino has always been a significant motivator in my career ever since I first read the book “Rhinoceros Success” by Scott Alexander back in 1983 (which is still currently in print). The motivational factor came as the book describes most people as either Rhinos or Cows – where the Rhino is the hard-charging, thick skinned entrepreneur who will to do anything to get things done and the Cows, well the opposite - chewing their cud all day. It is a short, quick-read and a little silly book, but it is always good for a quick pick me up.
Some of our family members thought we were a bit crazy to change the name as if we were losing our heritage in some way. But most others have really embraced the changed and love our new image.
So, that is the type of agents that we are – a bunch of hard-charging, no-nonsense, doing-it-right group of real estate professionals working hard on behalf of our clients.
We welcome our new name to the industry and are looking forward to “Charging Hard”.
