I was 19 yrs. old when I heard this but it sort of stuck in my mind: By the time a person reaches 40 years old, they have given up on their dreams. I made sure I would remember this and indelibly imprinted it on my brain. No, that would not happen to me if I had anything to say or do about it. And it did not. Still have my goals and my dreams and still working on them.

Sarah - age is really just a state of mind. My daughter is actually 27 and full of optimism. That does not have to change. Life experiences cause people to become more "rational". They can still dream but they must work at it.

I learn something every day and age is just a number. I don't mind telling that I'm 49 and I keep doing what I love and I'll have dreams the day I die, no matter how old I am.

This is a great idea -- I think it is good to change our age on a weekly basis.

And to think, I wasn't going to do fortune cookie posts going into this month. I was going to move them to a personal, non real estate blog. Glad I kept it. And Andrew Payne Realtor® Richmond VA Homes For Sale~804-938-5257~ some of my fortunes do have numbers, I just don't play them. If you do and win, you owe me half ;)

I consider my life started at age 34. So far, the last 20 years have been the best.

Sarah, great quote and at the same time, this mindset helps us succeed. Age is a perception, too. Correct?

I really like your outlook on age. I'll be 43 this September, but I feel like I'm in my 20's physically, and maybe a little younger than that mentally.

Well, I am over 65, but in my head on a good day I'm 30. On a bad, stressful day, I'm 35. Age is only a number.

What great words of wisdom from someone who doesn't seem old enough to be that wise yet, just saying.

Laura Cerrano , I've been doing them for a bit. You can see others here: Fortune Cookie Fridays . I appreciate everyone's comments. Life is what you make of it and experiencing it in an enjoyable manner takes the cake. Even if you have to pretend to be a different age. Today I'm in my teens: slept until 10:30 then a date with my boyfriend tonight to see the new Marvel movie. Enjoy!

Age is just a number. It's refreshing that as a society we're starting to get that. Heck, My mother has claims to be 12 since I was 14... =)
