I Have Made A Difference In

 My #1 priority has been to do something helpful and beneficial for my neighborhood and the community. Also safety has been one of my biggest concerns . While walking my West Hills neighborhood and talking with West Hills residents I realized that many people don’t know their neighbors 3 houses away from their home.

Seeing this situation made me think that I needed to do something to connect our neighborhood and to keep people informed immediately when either good or bad things happen. My best option for this situation was inviting people to join next-door neighbor website.

Since December 2013 I have been inviting neighbors to this great site.

  After 8 months of working hard to connect neighbors now we have

   

  • a private cooking group on the site.

  • a group of ladies going to the Lake Shrine every other month.

  • a group of ladies going to the movies.

  • an emergency preparedness group.

  • and a private spiritual group.

  Also I have created a facebook page for our neighborhood

• But this is not all.

   

  I have been attending our West Hills Emergency preparedness meetings presented by the West Hills Neighborhood Council. I get great information that I can share with my neighborhood.

   Now I have been hosting Map Your Neighborhood meetings in my home.

  ( MYN helps us organize a timely response to disaster when 911 is unavailable)  All of us, working together, can reduce the serious consequences of disaster in our neighborhood.

   

  This is a program presented by FEMA so I am combining next-door with FEMA to communicate with neighbors and to present the emergency preparedness program.. Also I am so grateful that the West Hills City Council has been providing us with books and brochures on emergency preparedness.

• I have made a difference in my west hills community volunteering to     transport food for one of the food-banks on a weekly basis.

• Have Made a Difference In My Community with my involvement and volunteering to assist the homeless and less fortunate in our community by providing and serving good hot meals on Friday at a local church.

• 

   

  In winter we bring blankets and food to the homeless shelters.

   

   

  I collect food for the Southland Regional Association of Realtors. In an effort to assist those less fortunate in the Los Angeles area. SRAR collects non-perishable food items all year long.  All food collected is distributed to the various food banks and shelters within the San Fernando & Santa Clarita Valleys.

   

  
  

• Also I enjoy inviting neighbors to donate a new, unwrapped, non battery operated  Christmas toy. Their support always help make the holidays brighter for so many children! I also send these toys to the Association.

   

   

   

• As an EXIT Platinum Realtor, as well as all of the EXIT Franchises, gives a percentage of each of its commissions to Habitat for Humanity to ensure that every person has an opportunity to live in comfortable housing.

  Over 2 Million dollars pledged to date in both Canada and the US!

   

  

• When I was a little girl I remember my Mom helping people that she didn’t know.

   I never understood why she was doing that. Now I know because I am doing the same thing helping people that don’t even know that I exist.  I have been very blessed all my life.  Doing good things to people is just giving back.
