What Does Zillow's Aquisition of Trulia Mean for ActiveRain?

As I'm sure many of your have heard, today Zillow entered into agreement to purchase Trulia. As part of the Trulia family, ActiveRain will be included in the purchase.

Business as Usual

It seems like we were just here. It wasn't long ago that Trulia purchased Market Leader, and thereby ActiveRain. When that happened, the message to the members of ActiveRain was, business as usual.

But in reality, the merger ended up meaning more resources devoted to ActiveRain. We have been able to take advantage of the Trulia SEO team as well as been given additional development resources to create a better experience on ActiveRain. (We had a release today that will make the community much more social)

The recent news doesn't change that at all. Going forward, we expect to continue to support the ActiveRain community and help our members connect more, share more and learn more. 'Connect, Share and Learn' has been our mantra for years. Moving forward, we'll continue to help our members connect with, share with and learn from your peers around the country (and Canada) and consumers in your market.
 

Zillow and Trulia Value the ActiveRain Community

For years, Zillow CEO Spencer Rascoff kept his blog on ActiveRain. Spencer understands how passionate the members of this community can be. He knows that our members take a certain amount of ownership in ActiveRain, as well they should, given how committed many of you have been to helping build this amazing community. He's been a part of this community and he understands why our members are passionate about ActiveRain.

As Spencer knows, providing value to our members is what drives us to come to work every day. That hasn't changed. If anything, this accelerates our desire to prove to you the value of your participation on ActiveRain.

More so, the people at Zillow and Trulia all believe that local real estate professionals are the core of the real estate transaction and our business becomes more successful as your businesses become more successful. In whatever way we can position the real estate professional as the expert in the minds of consumers, we are going to do that. ActiveRain is, in many ways, the epitome of showcasing local real estate professionals as the expert in their neighborhood. 

We will continue our focus on putting our members' content in front of more people so that you have more opportunities to earn the business of buyers and sellers in your market.
