Making a Difference: A Helping Hand, Loving Heart and Friendly Smile
I see making a difference as a global thing. It may start in our local community but I feel making a difference transcends where it originates and impacts the entire Universe.
I believe the simple things that I do every day make a huge difference locally in my community and beyond. Some of what I consider to be simple everyday things I do are:
• Smile and say Hello to strangers – it may be the only smile or voice they hear that day
• Open and hold doors for people – it is the polite thing to do
• Say “please” “thank you” and “you are welcome” – these are what we call “manners”
• Honest in my actions and deeds – at all cost honesty comes first
• Actively listen to others – this shows respect
• Offer my help and assistance
• Do what I say I am going to do when I say I am going to do it
• Follow up and follow through on my promises and commitments to others
• Take responsibility for my actions – owning my mistakes and correcting them
• Hold myself accountable – atone for any misgivings
• Hold others accountable – this is a challenge
• Compassionate – kind, caring and considerate
• Vulnerable – willing to expose myself to imperfections of being human
• Volunteer at the Human Society
• Volunteer at the Food Bank
• Fundraiser for the American Cancer Society – I am a survivor
• Donate food to the food bank
• Make financial donations to the Humane Society, Disabled Veterans, Food Bank, American Cancer Society
As a real estate broker listing and selling San Jose Homes my clients receive full service with the best possible care. Their best interests are always to top of mind and close to my heart. I truly do put my heart and soul into taking care of my clients.
I never give up or succumb to the pressures of bully agents who attempt to strong-arm a transaction. Please don’t be shocked by that statement. It’s a cold hard fact that it happens far too often in this business.
I do not believe we can “measure” the true difference we make when we live by the Golden Rule and treat others with dignity, honor and respect.
This post is an entry into Donna Foerster's challenge to write about how we make a difference in our community.
