I am not talking about the weather or the season. But that is over too. I am talking about the Real Estate Winter.

This real estate winter is what I call a nuclear winter. That is, it was a people made winter. It was not a normal cycle of appreciation and slow down. It was boom and then it went boom! It was a nuclear winter.

Those of us who are survivors of this nuclear winter look with hope at every bit of green. We see the numbers of home sales rise. We see housing closes passing housing starts. In the same way a hungry animal who has survived a man made disaster might look at a green bud or flower coming out as food. We look at things to nourish our real estate businesses. They need to be fed. They have been hungry in many cases for a long time.

But I do see hope and light and the green buds of spring forming. I am still hungry. But I do believe this winter is finally showing signs of being over.

Charlie:  I think you are correct.  There seems to be and increase in buyers in New England as well.  I think this is the end of the "winter".

Charlie: I couldn't give away my services during the months of October through January. It was definitely 'When the holidays are over."

Well, they are over and credit conditions became more stringent in those weeks. Some of those folks are now calling me. And definitely the Realtors and mortgage brokers are starting to listen, because even FHA is getting harder.

Winter is over.
