Tennessee's Tax Free Holiday August 1-3 2014
It's here! The Sales Tax holiday has arrived and now is the time to save on all kinds of things!
What's Tax Free?
Clothing $100 or less
Each item of clothing must be priced under $100. This is not limited to students. All clothing will be sold tax free over the weekend, except for those items used for business or a trade.
This covers shoes, socks, ties, coats, gloves, and anything else you can think of.
School Supplies $100 or less
Each item must be priced at $100 or below. The Tn Tax Holiday site defines school supplies as those items used by a student in the course of a study. Of course the items don't have to be used by students. Anyone can purchase pens, paper, staplers, scissors etc.
Computers $1500 or less
The computers can be laptops, desktops or tablets as long as they are NOT purchased for use in a trade or business. It's important to note that exterior additions: including, but not limited to keyboards, mouse, speakers or software not already loaded on the computer, are NOT tax exempt.
