I saw something on television a week or so ago that was highlighting the bolgoshpere. More specifically, the program was highlighting some well known bloggers such as Perez Hilton and Ariana Huffington. Now understand that I realize I am nowhere near as well known nor as savvy when it comes to the blogosphere (yet). What did interest me was that these two and several other less well known bloggers were actually earning a respectable income from their blogs.
You mean all this time I was doing this for free! Thinking about it, I do realize that I was making an income in terms of increased business from relationships forged in the Rain. This referral business is not what I am referring to however. What I am referring to is generating income as a direct result of what I am doing right now...blogging!
I decided that I wanted in on that so I began to look around. I did not have to look far to find examples of people I knew who were already generating income from doing what they enjoyed, blogging. I asked for and received guidance from people who do this on on numerous networking sites that I belong to. It seemed that the key to being successful at this endeavor would be a little research into topics and/or companies and the ability to utilize blog advertising. Well the research was simply time and effort, I could do that. As for utilizing blog advertising, well, I already belong to this site as well as numerous other professional and social networking sites so that was not going to be an issue.
So this is it for me, the beginning of getting paid for doing something I enjoy. This is going to be a fun ride and the extra income generated from this adventure will be nice. Real estate will continue to be my primary income stream but this venture should take minimal time and return a modest income for my efforts.
