Fireplaces - Brick, Stone, Wood, or Slate?
What do you think? 
Should the fireplace be built with wood?

What do you do if you cannot make up your mind? Can we just mix them up?

Well that is an interesting combo Dagny...I have a stone surface one that I wonder if I should paint...and I've been struggling with it!

Oy vey! Looks like the cheaped out. Brick is very dated, too. Stone seems to be the preference here and/or slate.
Dagny - that is an interesting combination. I don't have a preference. I like brick or stone.
Stone or slate seems to be the preferred here also, but this was interesting ...
