Is it important for you to live near an off-leash dog park? Jeffco loves, loves, loves dogs! And according to statistics, you're probably the human guardian to at least one furry friend, with 1,250,000 dogs lucky enough to call Colorado home. It's important to get them the exercise and socialization they crave, because happy pups are better citizens. Check out these four Jefferson County off-leash dog parks open from sunrise to sunset every day of the year.
Tony Grampsas Dog Park - 4471 Salvia Street, Golden CO 80403
Who wants to go for a R-U-N?!? |
This lovely 2.5 acre dog park is an enclosed wooded area, with mature shade trees and areas with shrubs and undergrowth dogs love to explore. There is no water available, so please bring some for your pal. She'll be thirsty after all that roaming around! It can get muddy, so it's best to bring a towel to clean off paws.
This gem is located at the Tony Grampsas Sports Complex (north of the Colorado Railroad Museum off of 44th/ Easley Rd). Just continue on the sidewalk to its end (300 yards north of the main parking lot), past the ball fields. Homes near Tony Grampsas
Homer's Run Dog Park - 17651 W 10th Ave, Golden, CO 80401
Homer's Run Dog Park is located in Ulysses Sports Complex, west of Field #1 off the upper parking lot. This park has 3-foot tall fences and is just right for smaller pups who don't need to run miles in order to get tuckered out. Even so, hounds of all sizes are welcome! There is also a picnic table for two-legged friends to sit and watch the fun. Homes near Homer's Run
The West Arvada Dog Park - 17975 W 64th Parkway, Arvada, CO 80007
The huge, fenced area is wide open and gives Spot plenty of space to run and jump and chase and play. There is also a nice trail that goes around the perimeter of the park, so you can take a nice walk while your pooch runs through the terrain. But bring water - the community dishes are filled early in the day and water is usually gone soon thereafter.
The West Arvada Dog Park is completely maintained by volunteers (bless their puppy lovin' hearts). So everything you see from benches, fire hydrants and water dishes have been provided by people who love dogs as much as we do! If you go, please make a donation in the collection box near the southeast gate so that they can continue their good work. Homes near West Arvada
Forsberg Park - 15900 W Alameda Parkway, Lakewood, CO 80228
This well maintained 4 acre park south of Green Mountain has two sections; one for bigger dogs and one for smaller dogs, though they aren't formally separated. But your buddy will have plenty of space to play - and even do fun agility training on the seesaw, through the tunnel and up the ramp! Poop bags are provided and a water station is usually turned on in the warm months. If not, people usually leave water jugs by the community bowls at the entrance to share. With views of Red Rocks, you'll look forward to coming here as much as Fido and Fifi do. Homes near Forsberg Park
