Commercial Growth In Poinciana...

By
Real Estate Agent with La Rosa Realty

As the market continues to change in the housing industry, the commercial industry here in Poinciana is increasing - FINALLY.

Within the past year, Poinciana has added Home Depot to its list of residents, in addition to other local stores like Walgreen, Bravo supermarket, and a new Publix is also underway.  Now they have just open a Lowes in the area.  Lowes will bring 175 jobs to the area.  Some of these jobs will be taken by local residents while others will be from outside the area - hopefully those from outside will move in soon.

Residents are also eagerly anticipating the construction of a new post office.  And within the near future, hopefully a new hospital which is desperately needed in this area.

Despite all these new growth, homeowners are still losing their homes at rapid rate.  At the same time, I'm seeing a steady increase in buyers inquiry about potential property purchases.

Hopefully the commercial growth here in Poinciana will be an added incentive to many of these homeowners to stay within the community.

Commercial Growth The Good And Bad
Living in Poinciana for 6 years I have seen alot of growth in this area. Like mentioned above Lowes the Walmart and the new mall next to it. Solivita Marketplace, The shops at Bellago and more that I probably havent mentioned. Still the roads are a problem because there is virtually one road in and out, even with the expansion of Poinciana Blvd. and the road expansion off Marigold, that does not solve all are problems. Why has Poinciana been so hard stricken with Real Estate wows? Its not because of lack of expansion. Maybe the roads are one reason, or part of it, and maybe the commercial property is another. Granted we have grown so much but then you have to ask yourself, really with what. The Loop has made a huge difference for Hunters Creek! Yet we still get strip malls and over size stip malls. Chillis pulls out and you ask why? Wendys pulls out and you ask why? How many other companys have pulled out that we have no idea about and still we ask why? Maybe it has to do with some stupid color codes for buildings. Ask Martins BBq who had to change there awnings.  Maybe its the association who collects association fees and says that the money is going to improve and widen roads, and keep are area clean yet I see it getting more run down than it was 6 years ago. Maybe someone should demand an accounting of this money. Better yet, maybe we the residents should have a say were it goes. Or maybe we should incorperate Poinciana into a city and put the APV out of buisness. Know the APV will tell you property taxes will go up because of what a city needs (police, fire, hospitals)ect. But if we do incorperate, maybe will stop Avatar from driving price up on places like Chillis and stupid color codes and we can get other realtor groups in here. The problem is we are expanding but yet were are the Kohls, Circuit Citys, Big name restaurants like Macoroni Grill, or malls, like the loop with movie theaters. Maybe they would come if the APV and Avatar dont drive up the prices and enforce dumb rules. Maybe if we incorperate we might get roads constructed for easier access, which alot of people and potential home buyers avoid in this area because of this. As much that has come and as much as the Apv says it has done, were is the break through. The apv would tell you back in 1980's when this community was being developed and assumed to be this big or bigger they never addressed this issues that are here now. They didnt invision that with growth we need hospitals, access roads, shopping centers of relevance, schools, and much more. Yet they are working on this now. How good is it to try to correct mistakes made from poor judgement. Yet we are told we are working on it. Maybe they should inform the communit better with plans of what is comming and what they are doing to make them stay and not pull out. Im tired to hear we are working on it and we done so much already. I want to here what they can do to lure big construction groups with big projects, a elementary, middle and high school in every village if not more than one of each. Stop telling us what you have done and stop driving people and industry away. Start doing what you have to to make Poinciana attractive to people and home buyers and industry that makes a difference for people to stay and people to buy. Stop putting Poinciana and its residents in bigger dire straights were they are afraid of loosing there home like hundreds already have. What oncee looked attractive is on the verge of disaster. Maybe we the residents should start to incorperate and take are city back and move foward.
