REALTORS® Involved With a Solution??

As Congress struggles to find a solution to what my local papers are calling the 'housing mess', I'm trying to find anything locally or nationally that REALTORS® are doing in response.  This is not a criticism, but an informational question only.

There's a Democrat proposal to have the government step in and back up to $400 billion in troubled loans.  They say it will help borrowers.  Then we have Republicans who don't want federal action that might have taxpayers footing the bill for a mortgage bailout.  And we have the President talking about possible expansion of the HOPE NOW Alliance to simplify the process for refinancing and modifying mortgages. 

In New Jersey, several legislative initiatives have been introduced to ease the burden on many of the state's homeowners who find themselves in trouble.

I'm writing for our local board's newsletter, and was looking for some comments on these proposals or any local, state or national initiatives REALTORS® are backing. (Not just NJ)
