Annette - Urban living is becoming ever so popular in the LA area too.  With freeway congestion and the high cost of gasoline more and more people are opting to live closer to work.  Once home, they walk to dinner, to see a movie, meet friends or shop in their urban neighborhood.

Hi Norma, you would think with all the waterfront keys (barrier islands) being so close to Sarasota that urban living would have skipped us.  I can certainly understand in your area.  When I lived in Atlanta, downtown living was popular as you mentioned.  Sarasota has such a neat downtown area with cultural events, galleries, shopping at your finger tips including naturally Starbuck's so it's a hot spot with buyers who want to simplify their life.
