In 2003 approximately 71% of buyers used the internet to search for homes. According to NAR statistics in 2013 that number is up to 92%. Of those 45% are using a phone or tablet to find homes.
My numbers seem to back that claim up pretty well. In fact as you can see from the stats on one of my two websites that over 50% of my visitors are using a mobile phone or a tablet. So a mobile friendly site is more important now than ever before.
I just finished visiting the sites of some of the other agents and brokerages in my market and was surprised to find how many are not. I can't imagine how frustrated it must make that 50% of the population who is using their phone or tablet to search for homes to not be able to do so easily.
Not all of them are using any type of mapping either. Both my sites have the ability to map properties and give potential buyers the ability to view satelite imagery, virtual tours and I include as many photos as possible to attract more attention to your listings.
