Colorful Crepe Myrtle Trees are Beautiful to Landscape With

Colorful Crepe Myrtle Trees are Beautiful to Landscape With

I notice many beautiful Crepe Myrtle trees growing here in Southern California. They come in a variety of pinks, lavenders, reds and also white. Many shopping centers and parks like them as you can mix the colors and make a beautiful setting.

Where I live, they have about 8 lining both sides of the entrance for a beautiful and dramatic entryway.

The birds ike to find refuge in these trees and it makes nice pictures.

The flowers grow in large clumps and are very showy. Every home should have at least one Crepe Myrle tree.

Hi David,

They are lovely trees in a variety of colors.  But we don't have the snowy mountains like you do. Every state has their unique beauty.

Hi Sam,

I am glad I shared some new information. We all live in different parts of the country and our weather dictates what type of trees grow the best.

Good evening Kristin ... the Crape Myrtle are beautiful trees and when I first moved to the south ... I thought they were Lilac trees.  No scent but still lovely.

The birds can hide amongst the clumps of flowers. Great haven for them.

Hi Judith,

You are right as they really don't have much smell at all. Interesting and they do look like Lilacs!

Hi Kristin, I have been see these trees show more recently. In the older parts of San Diego , I have not seen many of them. They are really wonderful when in bloom.

Hi William,

Perhaps in the older sections they died off as I am not sure of their life expectancy.

Crepe Myrtles truly are beautiful trees.  This spring I took out 4 Texas Privets which had made a mess out of things for years.  I hope to plant a couple Crepe Myrtles this autumn.  I'm fond of some purple ones I've seen.

Hi Myrl,

I think the Crepe Myrtle trees will be beautiful in your yard and are not messy at all. Stay cool this summer.
