OK, let’s talk about Mixpo.  I’m still figuring it out but I welcome you to join me.

AR sent me a cute little Flip video camera (SO portable!!) and signed me up with Mixpo.  There is probably a fee for Mixpo, I don’t know.  But it’s cooooool, and I bet you’ll want it.

I've uploaded one video to Mixpo so far and it was EASY.  It takes you through the process, step by step, and gives you some pretty nice options.  I haven’t played yet with editing, my video was pretty straightforward.  But I did like that it let me add some text up front (another opportunity to play with Rich, mwahaha!) and that it let me pick which shot from the video I wanted to use as the frame people see before viewing.  (VERY nice option, YouTube just takes a scene from the middle and sometimes it is barely related to your main point or is just plain old unflattering.  Better to have a choice.)  It also was much faster uploading than YouTube.

So uploading is easy, just trust me.  Follow their instructions, 1-2-3.

The cool thing has been looking at the stats on the video.  Oh yes – this was designed for business and they mean to tell you what’s working and who’s watching.  This is what you need to know.

As this wasn’t directed to my locals but to all of AR, I have views from across the country.  If I were using this for work, I’d be zoomed in on WV and trying to keep them happy.  (But as WV is not an AR hotspot, I have not a single view there.  So sad.)

Here’s a screenshot of the Mixpo stats:

First off – I have no idea what “Impressions” would be and couldn’t find a definition on their site.  I had to write them to ask and have not heard back.  (Guessing that’s when someone watches a bit, just gets an impression?  Maybe their eyes just touched the page the video was on?  Really, no idea.)  Then there are views, and conversions are I suppose the ones that took the bait and looked for more info.  I have very little extra info in there yet, so if you looked I apologize for wasting your time.

Playthrough is pretty cool.  I know that 204 people watched the video.  Of them, 137 watched the whole thing.  And as if THAT is not surprising enough, 27 people watched it AGAIN.  (Why would you punish yourselves so??)  Still, if this had been for business, that would be golden.

Then my favorite little bit is the map.  See those little flags with Viewer Locations?  They tell me who watched, how many times, and if they looked for more info.  Oh, the things the internet gives away!!  I had to check with a friend to make sure it was right, did he really watch it that many times?  Yes, he did.  (Cut it out, already!!!)  <Still hate video.  You can zoom waaaaaay in on the map and peek in people’s windows if you want.  Really, TMI.

Last is referring sites, which I guess would be cool if I had some.  It’s pretty much AR, Mixpo itself and then Twitter, thank you so much @gotbob.  *Ahem*

So far my assessment of Mixpo is cooooooool.  I like knowing who’s watching and whether they got anything out of it.

We need to be able to gauge how well anything is going to work for us if we’re going to give up some of our precious time doing it, right?  Mixpo will help you put it together and put it in front of your audience.  They'll also tell you whether or not it’s working and will help the people who find you get in touch with you from your ad, which is what they call the video.  I suppose they’re right.

Mixpo, A+ so far.  I’ll be back!

That's too cool Sarah, I'll be anxious to see if others have used it and what their comments are, thanks.

Sarah- I have to look into this. I haven't use video yet, but have seriously been considering it! Thanks for the link!

03/30/2008 11:08 AM by Jeannette Neerpat, e-Pro Coral Springs/Parkland Real Estate (London Realty Corp)

Thanks for keeping us informed about Mixpo. I assume this is part of the AR video blog contest. Do you know if they sent everyone the same video camera? Where would I find out more about the cameras they chose? I am looking to purchase, sooner rather than later.

03/30/2008 11:13 AM by Vickie Nagy, Realtor, Specializing in San Ramon, Danville & the Tri-Valley! (Empire Realty Associates)

hmmmm  I wanna know who and why someone went back and watched it again?   Were they male or female?    And better yet.. is there a way if someone clicks a second time a "nanny cam" device clicks on and records the watcher???   Now that would be coolllllll

03/30/2008 11:18 AM by Desiree Daniels New Jersey Real Estate (609) 448-2222 (RE/MAX Tri County)

Dez - LOL!!!  Ooooh, I like that "nanny cam" idea!!  I have no idea why someone would watch it again.  But interesting to see who did!

Vickie - I don't know anything about an AR video contest.  Am I in it??  Rich just asked me to take the camera, use it and tell you guys about it.  That's all I'm doing.  I'll write more about the Flip next time, or click in the link to them up in the post to see their website.

Jeannette - You're welcome!!  :)

Bob - Others are using it.  You'll be seeing a lot more of it if you aren't already!

03/30/2008 11:34 AM by Sarah Cooper (Real Estate Shows)

Cool Sarah! I don't have my video camera yet but I have been playing with video using my little camera. I think it's fun!

03/30/2008 11:35 AM by Monika McGillicuddy~REALTOR®~ N.H. Real Estate Broker & Trainer (Prudential Verani Realty/Hampstead)

Sarah, I really like the fact that it gives you information of the view and the where they are located.   Another new cool to check out.  I don't know if I can keep up.  I just got started on the Twitter thing, lol.

03/30/2008 11:38 AM by Ray Nellum, Fort Smith Real Estate (Ramona Roberts Realtors)

Sarah,  Very interesting.  I hadn't heard of Mixpo before.  I think I am going to have to check them out.

03/30/2008 11:42 AM by Roger Smith (Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage)

It's pretty neat.  There are a lot of good features.  I'm curious to learn more.  We've been doing professional video for quite sometime now for certain larger commercial clients and even some of our residential work as well. It's a great tool.

03/30/2008 12:05 PM by Brian Luce (1st Patriot Realty)

Very cool, Sarah. Thank you for sharing.

One of the first things I noticed is that Mixpo doesn't brand every video with their own logo, like YouTube does. And it also seems to compress the video at a much higher quality.

Thanks again!

03/30/2008 12:07 PM by Michael Cole (CPG Tours)

Wise move by AR picking you as one of the video testers. I'm one of the multiple viewers, having gone back once or twice as we talked about it on Twitter. Really like the features that Mixpo offers - only thing I don't like is that their site has no pricing info and forces you to contact them. Hope it will be reasonable; I ordered a Flip Ultra this weekend and should have it in a couple of days!

03/30/2008 12:36 PM by John Novak - Las Vegas and Henderson NV Real Estate (Keller Williams Realty The Marketplace)

I looked into it but it really bothers me when there is no pricing information availalbe. I don't want "to be contacted" give me the info, let me look at it and then I'll decide whether I want to move forward. Just a little mixpo feedback if any of them are lurking here

03/30/2008 12:57 PM by Maple Valley WA Broker/Owner Colleen Fischesser 425-432-5400 (RE/MAX Select Real Estate)

Very cool, so did you sign up for an account or use someone elses? It doesn't show the prices, your right, it takes awhile from the Vlip to upload on YouTube but it is easy. Sounds like they syndicate to all these sites for you.

03/30/2008 01:06 PM by Missy Caulk Ann Arbor Real Estate (Keller Williams Ann Arbor)

I am glad to hear it's so easy (liking easy these days)!  I guess I will have to look into Mixpro (don't like that they don't post prices...hate that!) because I like how the backend info you posted about.

Thanks for being a terrific guinea pig Sarah!  You are a natural at teaching!  :  )

PS, I watched twice....wanted to see if I could hear the "twang" others commented on...just a teeny, weenie bit...nothing like my sister in Georgia!

03/30/2008 01:23 PM by Deborah Burns ~ Seattle Real Estate Agent (BRIO Realty)

Really nice to read your "review". I went to their page and agree with Colleen. I have the Adobe premiere elements 3.0 for video and have just started to learn how to use it. It is something you have to read the directions so this Mixpo might be better!

03/30/2008 01:30 PM by Jo Soss | Bremerton WA Real Estate (Skyline Properties, Inc.)

Okay, I just registered at Mixpo and I am waiting to "be contacted" so I can find out pricing.  I will come back and "Report" the numbers!  I also chided them a bit about not posting their prices by reminding them that it's all about "pull marketing" not "push marketing",  LOL!

03/30/2008 01:34 PM by Deborah Burns ~ Seattle Real Estate Agent (BRIO Realty)

Deborah, good for you. wonder if they work on the weekend - lol!

03/30/2008 01:39 PM by Jo Soss | Bremerton WA Real Estate (Skyline Properties, Inc.)

Sarah -{Bob here} the other Bob again....:-)  I just twittered you. Very cool.  The tracking is very similar to NAYMZ site design. Did you ever find out how much Mixpo costs? I think I'm gonna have to get one of these nifty little cameras... Very cool. I've always been a ham{merstein}  ha ha... Be going to staples next week to get one I hope. Not the pink one though...

03/30/2008 01:43 PM by Pascack Valley Real Estate>> Lisa and Robert Hammerstein (Coldwell Banker)

Hi Jo!  What????....isn't the Internet 24/7?

If they only give out important info (like pricing) when we have to sign to be contacted...then someone ought to be there answering questions.  So far, no one has "contacted" me...so maybe not until Monday during "business hours" so you are probably right!

03/30/2008 01:47 PM by Deborah Burns ~ Seattle Real Estate Agent (BRIO Realty)

Deborah they did say they wanted to start a "dialog". I have went thur more of their site and watched the video of the photog here in Seattle and it is amazing what they are doing with the links. There is a link to his website - to an contact form and dang something else. I doubt we can do that with YouTube or an other video program. So SEO is what they have that sets them apart.

03/30/2008 02:22 PM by Jo Soss | Bremerton WA Real Estate (Skyline Properties, Inc.)

sounds like a great product, but disappointing they don't put pricing/subscription info. on their site.  We are spoilt by instant access to everything online and now I can't stand to wait to hear back from a customer service tech!

03/30/2008 02:23 PM by Tina Howell, Realtor® Frisco & Celina Real Estate (RE/MAX First Realty II)

I'm with Tina - what's up with the "email us for pricing."  Now I'm scared it will be out of my budget.

03/30/2008 03:09 PM by Sherry Spengel | Wheaton IL (Prudential Spengel Realty)

I LOVE my Flip- I have been using it since Oprah introduce this on her Show. I preview homes with it for my buyers and send them a video- it's GREAT!

Now I haveto play on this new great tip Mixpo

Thanks!

03/30/2008 03:18 PM by Patricia "Pattie " Romano Your HomeTown Realtor Associate (RE/MAX AT BARNEGAT BAY-Manahawkin)

Awesome!  I never heard of this.  Pretty nice tool to be able to see the stats of your video.  Great post!

03/30/2008 03:23 PM by Spokane Home Loan -- Casey Brischle -- Mortgage Professional (Bank of Whitman)

Sarah, anything that has metrics associated with it, I agree, gives you the feedback you need to see if using this "cool tool" or not in your life is worth it, or a complete waste of your time and money.

03/30/2008 03:25 PM by Gary Woltal - REALTOR® Dallas Ft. Worth (Keller Williams Realty)

Hey Sweet Sarah - all this pull stuff is certainly gonna help me keep up with some of you....  ;-)

I've toyed with the idea of video, but most I see and hear haven't impressed me so far.  Most of the sound is extremely unappealing to me, and most of the herky-jerkiness of the videos makes me motion-sick.  Perhaps I'll rethink a tad with this camera you and Dez have both used.  And I guess that means I'll have to check out Mixpo, too.

I hope some of those who commented ahead of me come back and post what they were given for pricing.  I do agree, no one should have to wait to be contacted to find out info on pricing like they apparently do.

Thanks for this info Sis!
MWA!!
Ann

03/30/2008 04:43 PM by Portsmouth NH Real Estate ~ Ann Cummings (RE/MAX Coast to Coast - Portsmouth New Hampshire)

Well that is pretty cooll!!! You can see who's stalking you. I'm glad I only watched it 3 times (I think) :) Now that I know you can track it I'm going to mess with you. What's that thing you do....MWaaaa.

Bertha will love Mixpto!!!!!!

03/30/2008 05:03 PM by Bryant Tutas-Tutas Towne Realty, Inc

LOL.....man, I am going to have to get a flip video thing soon I guess. I really don't want to. I'd rather see my dentist!

03/30/2008 06:26 PM by Christy Powers - Pooler, Savannah Real Estate Agent (Keller Williams Coastal Area Partners)

Bryant - LOL!!!  It was three times, but I never would have mentioned it!!  :)  (Nobody else 'fess up, I only spot checked a few, you're safe!)  MWA!!  Mess with me, Daddy!  (I can say that here, right?)

Sister Ann - Hey there!  I'm not a fan of video either.  Jeff Turner is a pro and what I saw from Dale Chumbley made me see why I should be doing it.  I'm working on it, and if I can see value for ME, then I'll work it in.  Pricing will matter!

Gary - Gotta' know whether it's working for the people I'm trying to reach.  Love having the numbers.  (And it was interesting to see a few of them!)

Casey - The stats were cool!  (I keep peeking!)

Pattie - Oprah's got a Flip??  LOL!

Sherry - Yes, I agree it's weird not to have the pricing.  Maybe they're trying to make it upscale??  I don't care, I want info I can get to easily, don't want to wait for days.  <Honest feedback.

Tina - Amen!  I'm singing with you on that one!

Jo - Their SEO info really got me -- loved it.  Not loving the lack of pricing information.  Hmmm?

Deborah - Thanks for looking into the pricing for us!  Let us know when you hear back from them -- curious about how long it will take??  I still haven't heard back about "Impressions" either -- and told them it was for a review of their product for this network.

Bob - Love the Flip!!  It's really cool and fun enough that I'm actually USING it.  How about THAT?!  :)

Thesa - Hey, Thesa!  We'll keep you updated!

Dez - I still love me some Dez.  :)

Missy - Active Rain set me up with the account to test it out for them and tell you guys about it.  Nice, huh?

Colleen - I am seconding that opinion!!  I want easy to find information so I can make a decision without a hard sell.  That's just me.  (I'm a blogger -- that's how we are.)

John - Hooray for the Flip!!  LOL -- don't worry, I wasn't checking everyone!!  Happened to see BB and then a friend or two.  Those stats will be great for seeing what works for locals, huh?

Michael - I noticed that, too -- and thank you for saying it since I didn't!!  They are letting us sell OUR thing without throwing their name in on it.  Very nice for us!

Brian - I'm totally new to video and glad this is so user friendly.  For someone like you who is familiar with video, do you think you'd like this, too?

Marie - Hope you like it!

Roger - So far, I'm really liking it.  :)

Ray - Love Twitter!!  Amazing how much a simple little thing like Twitter has done for me.  :)

Monika - I've done a little video with the family from my camera.  I'll write about the Flip next, but it's just MADE for video and SIMPLE.  It's so easy, it makes something I am not comfortable with FUN.

03/30/2008 06:47 PM by Sarah Cooper (Real Estate Shows)

Me too! I watched at least twice. Once Little One interupted me - so I had to restart.  Once to watch all the way through.

You did Great! I'm still waiting for the next, and can't imagine you - stuck for what it should be !  That is your gift - Ms. Topic Choser :)

((HUGS))

03/30/2008 07:08 PM by Kim Wood REALTOR(R), PA (RE/MAX Main Line)

Well, I've also emailed Mixpo for pricing and I don't like to have to be contacted and "sold"...that means "MONEY" / "OPTIONS" most of the time.  My concern is WHERE/WHO is the host video computer?  I started using Talk Fusion's eVideo eMail and also using it for videos on my website, home video tours and emails and don't have to worry about them up and disappearing on me.  The cost is as low as $150 and about $20 a month for hosting the videos and tracking all the emails that view your videos. I'm please but never married to one particular format.

I AM INTERESTED IN THE EMAIL VIDEO ASPECT OF MIXPO.  MIXPO SAYS THEY DO THAT, BUT I COULDN'T FIND ONE IOTA OF INFO ON IT.  CAN SOMEONE EMAIL ME A MIXPO VIDEO EMAIL so I can see what it looks like???  To dbonweb@aol.com  THANKS!!!!!!!!!!!  I'll send you a Talk Fusion one in exchange, hows that.

I put a blog about the Talk Fusion program on activerain at eVideo eMail - High Tech Customer Communication if anyone's interested in seeing how that one works and what we do with it.

03/30/2008 07:18 PM by David W. Bolick (Network Real Estate, Inc.)

That was SO Cool... whats the cost for a video phone like that and whats the cost for the membership? I think this is SO cool again... thanks for being bold and giving a confession.

Sarah, where is this video blog contest located at and is it too late to enter.  That looks like a neat camera that they sent you.

Hi, everyone, Mixpo has not contacted me as of Sunday 7:19 PM, sooooo it's looking like they are open for business M-F (what's up with that?).   I will come back with pricing info tomorrow (?) when I suppose someone will "contact" me.

03/30/2008 09:22 PM by Deborah Burns ~ Seattle Real Estate Agent (BRIO Realty)

this looks entirely cool... A+? wow! I've been slammed with contracts for 2 weeks straight. I wonder what I look like after so many 16-hour days! Thanks for a fun, new toy to look forward to learning about. You find the coolest stuff!

Than k you so much for all the great licks to check out. Very interesting post and will be looking forward to your final judgments and recommendations. Video is our next big bump and it should be very interesting what we will soon be seeing here on AR. They are ahead of the curve and that is terrific.

I went over and checked out the software after your last blog I read about the flip camera and mixpo.  I have to say that I'm even more interested now after reading about the stats with impressions and everything else.

Tell AR they can send me a free camera anytime they want to also!

I'll post videos like that!

03/31/2008 09:24 AM by Bill Somerset, Realtor, Your Dover NH Real estate agent (Century21 Central Falls Realty)

Yep, impressions are how many times a set of eyes "possibly" saw it because it was on the page.  Have fun with video!

Well Sarah I'm glad you like it so far.

Everyone, This Mixpo product is something we are going to be integrating into ActiveRain. We have 5 members testing it right now and over the next six weeks we will be integrating it into AR. Colleen, I believe you asked about price. Call me if you'd like to know what it will be once we launch it

(I'd tell everyone right now, I just don't know what has been agreed upon. I can promise it will be very affordable)

You will be able to store and edit your video right from AR. You will also be able to embed posts to your ActiveRain blog very easy. You will also be able to grab the embed code and throw them wherever you'd like outside of AR.

Lots of great explanations to come. We've got Brad in on the demo's so we can have some awesome tutorials when the product launches.

03/31/2008 10:41 AM by Bob Stewart - ActiveRain (ActiveRain)

Bob, Thanks for the awesome news!! Can't wait to see this all - very exciting!!

Great post! I think I see my lone little flag way up north there in your screen shot. ;-)

This will be a great addition to AR. Now maybe I'll have to conquer my fear of video and give it a try.

Way to go Sarah Girl!

So, has anyone posted wiyh their Flip video through You Tube yet?  Is it easy?

I wouldn't normally use the comments of someone else's post to highlight my own post. But everyone can take a look here for a few answers, and probably more questions :-)

Yeah Misty....No one ever sent me a Mixpo Video Email either.  Can't figure out why things appear to be bogged down.  I know a bunch of people have since joined and are using it though.
