"August at the Jersey Shore" ... Ocean City New Jersey
By this time, we have been through Memorial Day and July 4th weekend, all of June and all of July. It's been a lot of fun, a bit of work, and both a relaxing time as well as a "wearing time" too. Of course, I'm talking about being a sales and rental real estate agent here at the Jersey Shore.
Rentals is a consuming business for about 10-12 weeks from late June into early August. Many will say it is from Memorial Day to Labor Day ... but that is not entirely accurate. The Memorial Day Weekend is big, but then we have a 3-week letdown until we pick up again with "our top ten rental week" schedule.
We are just coming into our second week in August which is the 4th most rented week of the summer. After this one, we start to rapidly go downhill as the number of rentals start to slow down along with the return of children to schools across Pennsylvania and New Jersey and New York, our major areas for summer rentals.
Of course, we now begin again for the 2015 summer rental season. It (rentals) represents the backbone of our real estate efforts here in Ocean City. Every rental represents a potential buyer. Every rental owner represents a potential listing. That is the reason so many sales agents also participate in the rental process as well. Rental agents work with both perspective rental tenants and rental owners.
What happens next here in Ocean City ... it is the "Fall Buying Period" which kicks off the day after Labor Day and runs through Thanksgiving. Don't forget an "Indian Summer Wekkend" here at the shore in September and October. It happens to be my favorite time at the Jersey Shore!!!
